Biography:
Melissa taught English at Parkersburg South High School from 1972 to 2007, while also serving on the WV State Writing Assessment Committee, working as project coordinator for the National Writing Project’s Wood County site and traveling across the state teaching graduate classes to teachers as part of the Center for Professional Development. From 2007 to December, 2016, she was an adjunct instructor at Ohio Valley University, where she taught classes in writing, communications, literature, literary theory, Shakespeare, and education. Now that she’s “officially” retired, Melissa continues to volunteer at the Parkersburg and Wood County Library and the Parkersburg Art Center and is an active member of the National Society of Arts and Letters.
