Wha’s Like Us? Scottish Culture and History & Objects

This course explores several aspects of contemporary Scotland such as languages,government, geography and geology, religious life, maritime culture and Highlandism. It then goes on to look at the history of Scotland which has shaped the nation in the 21st century, focusing on early historic and medieval Scotland, the Protestant Reformation, seventeenth-century upheaval and the creation of modern Scotland through Enlightenment, rebellion, parliamentary union and industrialization.
