Local Hidden Histories

LOCAL HIDDEN HISTORIES

What do you really know about our local history? The goal of this course is to bring to light aspects of our community that have been lost in history or deemed too insignificant to remember. We will examine an eclectic mix of subjects and people to explore the ebb and flow of life in Marietta and the surrounding area. Some of the topics to be discussed are the lives and achievements of women, fires and floods, the Ku Klux Klan, buildings and businesses that have disappeared, downtown Marietta through the decades, prostitution, prohibition, and paranormal activities in haunted Marietta.
