Memoir Writing

Do you have a story to tell? Most people do, but few ever get around to sharing it.Roadblocks such as how to get started and how to link seemingly disconnected pieces into a cohesive story can seem insurmountable. Conducted in a low-tech,non-threatening environment where students are active participants, this workshop focuses on exactly those issues. The course also offers instruction in the basics of the memoir along with samples of autobiographical writing by published writers. While more standard approaches, such as the new autobiography and creative nonfiction are shared and practiced, alternative forms of the memoir are welcomed as well. The goal of the course is this: Your unwritten stories find their way onto the page and become a premiere form of self-expression and satisfaction.
